Smoke Chicken with Rice - Recipe
You might have tried many Chinese and American cuisines, but this is quite different than other cuisines as it is a fusion of both American and Chinese cuisines. I first got my hands on its recipe from my mom as she used to make it a lot when I was young, and it is still served on special occasions. This dish is served with rice and has a unique flavor, a blend of charcoal smoke, and eastern masalas. The bold flavor is something that will insist you make this dish again and again. Every time you eat it, you will feel it’s not enough. The tempting red color of the dish will attract people from other cultures to try it once as well. Ingredients for Smoked Chicken:
1 cup Ketchup
½ cup mustard paste
¼ cup vinegar
½ cup water
½ cup Soya Sauce
1 cup oil
1 kg chicken
½ cup Onion (finely chopped)
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder (according to your taste)
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Ginger Paste
1 tbsp Garlic Paste
Salt (according to your taste)
Ingredients to cook Rice:
2 cup Rice
4 cup chicken stock
2 Spring Onion
2 Green Chili
Salt (according to taste)
Procedure for Smoky Chicken:
Take a bowl and add ketchup, mustard paste, vinegar, water, soy
sauce, oil, red chili powder, sugar, garlic paste, ginger paste, and salt. Mix
all these ingredients together and cook it on a medium flame for 10 minutes. Boil
the chicken and save the stock to cook the rice later. After you are done
boiling the chicken, shred the boiled chicken into medium chunks. Slightly
grease the pan and put the shredded chicken on the sides of the pan. Now take a lump of coal and burn it for a while. When it’s burned enough then put it in the center
of that pan and add a few drops of oil to the coal. Instantly cover the pan with
its lid to add a smoky effect to the boiled shredded chicken. Keep the pan
covered with lit for 4 to 5 minutes. After five minutes, remove the lid and
take out the coal from the center. Now add the smoked chicken to the
prepared sauce and mix it together.
Procedure for Rice:
Start off by frying chopped onion till it’s golden brown.
Then add spring onion, green chili, salt (according to your preference), and chicken
stock, and wait till the water is boiled. As soon as the water starts boiling,
add rice to it and wait till the water is evaporated. Once the water is evaporated,
steam the rice for another 2 to 3 minutes. After this, your rice is ready to be
served!
To serve the dish add your rice and prepared smoked chicken gravy in a bowl and garnish it with some lemon and mint. Finally, your homemade smoke chicken with rice is ready to be served! Give it a try and enjoy it with your family and friends.
