COZY WINTER DRINKS
This bone-chilling weather calls for CHAI – the cure to everything as we desis like to think. Without further ado here are my top 3 favorite hot beverages that will keep you warm and cozy during this winter season
THE GOLDEN
CHAI
This Warm and
nutritious drink takes only ten minutes to make but has uncountable benefits such
as it is a great immunity booster, a natural blood purifier, and a powerful antioxidant.
This beverage helps fight the common cold and cough, improves skin, reduces
pain and inflammation, aids in better digestion, and helps insomnia.
PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES
SERVINGS: 2 persons
INGREDIENTS
500 ml Fresh
Milk
½ tsp Turmeric
Powder
¼ tsp Crushed
Black Pepper
1 tsp Black
Tea Leaves
2 Cinnamon
Sticks
½ inch piece of
Ginger
5-6 Cloves
2 tsp Honey
LET’S GET
COOKING
- In a saucepan pour 500 ml of milk and bring it to a boil.
- Add the turmeric powder and finely crushed black pepper to the pan and whisk well.
- Next throw in the black tea leaves and let them simmer for about 2 minutes.
- It’s now time to spice up the tea, add in the cinnamon sticks, pieces of ginger, and cloves.
- Stir the chai for a while.
- On low heat let the golden chai simmer for 4-5 minutes.
- Turn off the flame and pour in 2 tsp of honey. Brown sugar in the same quantity can also be used as a substitute for honey.
- Strain the tea in a mug, sprinkle some crushed almonds, and Cheers!
KASHMIRI CHAI
Also known as
The Noon Chai is a delicate creamy beverage. Topped with crushed nuts, this bold
mixture of spices is tailor-made for this frosty weather.
PREP TIME: 30 MINUTES
SERVINGS: 6-8 persons
INGREDIENTS
2 cups Water
3 cups
Chilled Water
1 Cinnamon
Stick
10-12 Green
Cardamon
6-8 Cloves
1-2 pieces of
Star Anise
½ tsp Salt
2 tbsp
Kashmiri Tea Leaves
¼ tsp Baking
Soda
3 cups Milk
1 tbs sliced
Almonds
1 tbs sliced Pistachios
LET’S GET
COOKING
THE KEHWA
- In a large pot add 2 cups of water at room temperature.
- Add in the spices i.e., cinnamon sticks, cloves, green cardamom, and star anise. Bring the water to a boil.
- Once boiling add baking soda, salt, and Kashmiri tea leaves. Mix well.
- Keep cooking on medium flame until it reduces to ¼ cup of its quantity.
- Add 3 cups of chilled water.
- Keep mixing and cooking on medium flame till the tea again reduces to 2 cups of its quantity.
- Take off from heat and strain.
- This process makes 2 cups of kehwa. Which is enough to make up to 6-8 servings of Kashmiri chai.
THE KASHMIRI
CHAI
- In a saucepan take 3 cups of milk and add the prepared keyway as required.
- Mix well and let the tea simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the sliced almonds and pistachios.
- Pour in saucers and garnish with crushed almonds and pistachios.

CHAI ESPRESSO
LATTE
One of the burning
questions when it comes to drinks and beverages is TEA OR COFFEE. This last recipe
of ours brings together both coffee and tea lovers on the same page.
PREP TIME: 5 MINUTES
SERVINGS: 2 persons
INGREDIENTS
4 tbsp Instant
coffee
3 tbsp Caster
Sugar
3 tbsp Hot
Water
2 cups Milk
½ tbsp Brown Sugar
4 Black Tea Bags
LET’S GET
COOKING
- In a bowl take instant coffee and caster sugar. Pour in the hot water.
- Blend with an egg mixer till the paste changes color to light brown and becomes frothy.
- In a saucepan boil the milk over medium flame.
- Once boiling place the tea bags in the pan and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes over low flame.
- Then add the coffee paste.
- Mix well and the strain in coffee mugs.
- Sprinkle powdered instant coffee on top and Cheers!
