HOT CHOCOLATE - The Best Winter Beverage !!!
As the temperature falls with each passing day, we all tend
to hide under some blankets or chug down on a Steaming Hot Beverage and nothing
drives away those chills like a Steaming Hot Cup of Coco.
Our version of a HOT CHOCOLATE has the perfect amount of
richness and creaminess that’ll satisfy both your Palate and Soul. And trust
us, the best thing about it is that you can have your hands curled up around a Steamy
Mug of Hot Chocolate within minutes at your home.
Here’s a list of all the ingredients you’ll need to make the
best Hot Chocolate from scratch rather than having to drink something out of a packet or something that has been made from sub-standard chocolates.
INGREDIENTS:
Half a Cup of White/Granulated Sugar.
One-Third Cup of Coco Powder or Crushed Dark Chocolate
(Unsweetened).
One-Third Cup of Water.
Three and a half (3 ½) Cups of Fresh Milk.
Three quarters (3/4) of a Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract.’
A pinch of Salt.
Half a Cup (1/2) of Heavy Cream.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a medium sized bowl, combine all the dry ingredients (White
Sugar, Coco Powder/Crushed Chocolate & Salt).
- Fill a Medium sized Pot almost three-quarters of the way
with water over a medium flame/heat. Bring the water up to a boil before
pouring in into the dry mixture.
- Once the water starts to boil, add in the dry mix of ingredients
and whisk until the components have infused and have a smooth texture.
- Turn down the flame to a lower setting and let the mixture
simmer for approximately two minutes. Constantly stir the mixture with the help
of a hand beater. (Make sure that the mixture doesn’t burn)
- Now, gently add the Milk to the mixture, stirring it
constantly. Let the mixture simmer for a minute or so and then remove it from
the flame.
- Once the pot is removed from the flame, add in the Vanilla
extract and Heavy Cream and mix them together.
- Fill in your cups with this rich & creamy Hot Chocolate and
serve it with the topping of your choice.
SERVING THE HOT CHOCOLATE:
Although these cups of steaming Hot Chocolate are refined
and self-indulgent but to bring their taste to another level, they can be
served with traditional toppings like Whipped Cream or Marshmallows.
We suggest you freshly whip some cream at home and cover up your Mugs of Hot Chocolate with them.
HOW TO MAKE WHIPPED CREAM?
- Start off by pouring the heavy cream in a medium-sized bowl.
(The colder the cream, the lighter whipped cream turns out).
- Add in White Sugar (to taste) and a few drops of Vanilla extract to the cream and start whisking on a medium setting with the help of an Electric beater. (You can use a normal whisk if an electric is not available).
- Now it’s all about patience, continue whisking until you achieve
the perfect consistency. The best indicator that your cream is whipped to
perfection is when the top of your beater forms 'Peaks' when it is taken out of
the cream.
- Lastly, enjoy the cream with the dessert of your choice or simply dive into the bowl with a Spoon.
